Moving Forward Group is working very hard to increase the scope of it’s free mental health peer group support method.
Recent networking with Hidden Homeless, the NHS Champions Show the Way wellbeing group (at the Kala Sangram Arts Centre) and providing support to Mind in Bradford’s Wellbeing Service has indicated the clear need to create Women’s Moving Forward Groups at the earliest opportunity. This is in hand, and soon there should be women’s groups in Keighley and Bradford.
Other mental health support groups have requested joint working with Moving Forward Group. Our success with supporting men’s mental health is widely recognised within Bradford District.
A major development is an upcoming joint project in coordination with Keighley Job Centre. Starting on the 3rd July we will be receiving referrals from Keighley Job Centre. Later, on the 20th July, those referred will be able to participate in a 12 week course that is intended to improve the mental health knowledge of the students, and support them with improving their well being. Ongoing support from local Moving Forward Groups will be available – we want to help those coping with poor mental health achieve the best wellness possible.
We are keen to expand our support further. If you would like to form a Moving Forward Branch in your local area please get in touch.
